Fonts are disappearing - please help

I bought FontCreator 6.2 this weekend and created a first font. Since creating it (and 2 associated fonts), i ran into more problems than i wish. At this point, i am not sure which problem is which or if one is compounding another one. So here is a bit of the sequence of event.

Specs: Windows7-64 bits, Paintshop Pro9, MSWord 2003, TheFontThing, FontCreator6.2

I created a first font called Xstitch. I saved it, and viewed it through TFT allowing me to view and use it in PSP.
I used the Xstitch file to create another one, changed the naming to XstitchB, and saving as XstitchB.
I did the same thing for XstitchC. I was able to view them in TFT and view and used them in PSP.

Then i tried changing the name to incorporate my designer nick and turned the Xstitch to cass-Xstitch1 (going through the auto-naming and saving as the new name). That didn’t work. In TFT i would see the NAME of the font, but nothing displayed. In PSP, the name would also show, but with nothing displayed beside and the font cannot be used.

Then, i tried editing the XstitchB and XstitchC to simply modify some of the characters to make them thinner. I didn’t make any name change or anything like that and just saved. Now, these fonts are not displayed anywhere anymore. Not in TFT, not in PSP, and i even tried in MSWord and they dont appear either.

I thought it might be safer to directly install the font, so i did open the font in FontCreator6.2 and did the Install. Now, it is not even appearing in the Windows>Fonts folder, while it IS there (a search with QuickFinderXT did find it in that folder but it is not showing). And of course, i cannot find any way to use the font.

HELP!!!

Update:

After a lot of frustration, research, trial and error, i managed to uninstall the ONE installed font and get the ghost ones to not be ghosts anymore. However, i am now scared of doing any editing on the fonts, or adding any characters for fear of loosing what i already have working and having to go through all the hoops to get to the same point.

Any suggestion to avoid getting ghost fonts when editing one?

First thing that’s going to be asked is for you to post the fonts, so you might as well do that now.

Hum… how would i do that?
