Glyph Overview doesn't

Hello..
I am trialling 5.5. As per lesson, Opening new Font, give it a name “asdf”, click on OK. Glyph Overview opens and is completely empty. Not a single outline of any colour..

Tools, Options, Overview, and check the box that says “Show sample in empty glyphs.” Also check that you have a suitable font selected in “Font used by samples.”

I knew it just had to be something so obvious, I just didn’t see it…! :angry:
However, would it not be a good :bulb: if a) that was enabled by default, to say Arial or Verdana and b) the help file had a very OBVIOUS note about this for neophytes to the proggie like me??

I think it is enabled by default, and does use Arial. Perhaps Erwin will confirm that for us.

Yes, Arial is the default font. Maybe you changed it by accident?

I’ve just got the trial and mine was empty too.
