I have looked at both tutorials offered here, and am under pressure to finalize within a few days hand drawn logo letters for my business logo that will be trademarked. Probably best to consider my request here a “Font Creator for Dummies” operation.
I have original hand sketched letters that one artist under a work for hire agreement made, and that another artist under contract filled color into in an Adobe Illustrator program. Some of the letters I want to change, plus I need a full alphabet in large and small case.
Actually, I originally asked both artists to use my handwriting to create their atistic version of the company name, but instead have received back 12 versions of everything BUT what I asked for, in both hand drawn words and also standard computerized fonts (not something to “trademark” BTW). Highly frustrated, I purchased Font Creator to create custom hand drawn letters myself that can be used by professionals in creating computerized logo graphic’s. I have 4 corporations, currently one logo being created, thus 3 more to come that will ustilize the same “lettering” as this 1st one.
I tried to copy & paste individually cropped in PhotoShop 7.0, saved as .jpg and inserted into a word doc grid (made from a converted PDF grid provided in one of the tutorials). The artist versions of my letters are wide because they are to be filled with gradient coloring.
My question is, do I have to hand draw all the letters to the sizes said in the tutorials, if so they won’t match the artists versions because I’m not an artist to reproduce like that, and in following the tutorials I do not find on the grids the “marks” indicating height for large or small letters. Thus, I’m already lost on step 1.
Assuming I master the above task and scan the document back in as an adobe PDF file, how do I get it from Adobe PDF into Font Creator and as a .bmp file? I have Adobe 5.0 inside of an older Adobe Essentials program and for some unknown reason I cannot open, manage, or create .bmp files in any of my Adobe programs. Are .bmp files the only type of import files Font Creator accepts?
I’m stuck on how to even get started with all of this. Help is very much appreciated. My goal is to have these logo letters done by Sunday evening, or that’s when I told the logo professional artist (?) that I’ve paid to create this logo I’d have the fonts done by.
Thank you for your assistance.
