How can i rename many cells automatically ??

Hii All
How can i rename many cells automatically ??
for example i change the caption of H cell to Y and the B cell to G manually
if i want to do the same thing to many fonts without make each one of them manually
Can i set the program to make this operation in the fonts automatically ??

  • Select cells B and G
  • Copy
  • Select cells H and Y
  • Paste Special
  • Uncheck Glyph data and metrics
  • Check Glyph mappings and postscript
  • Check override existing mappings

An easier method

  • Select cells H and Y
  • Copy
  • Select cells B and G
  • Paste
  • Font, Sort Glyphs

You can undo if you make a mistake, but maybe best to save as a new font file. You can copy glyph outlines and metrics to blank glyphs to keep backup copies while working with a simple copy and paste.

If the “Caption” is the Postscript Name, any manual modifications would be short lived if Format/Post/Include Postscript Names/Generate Names was selected.

This action looks at the glyph mapping to retrieve the postscript name and replaces whatever shows as the glyph name. So if the maps are corrected/modified then the ID would be automatically corrected by (turning off Include Postscript Names) and selecting Generate Names. Circular but keeps the maps in sync with the Postscript Names.
