Do anyone know how can type unicode in MS excel/word 2000?

I don’t know about Excel, but Word allows you to assign shortcut keys to Unicode characters. This is done from the Insert Symbol menu. Download my PDF file Using Pali Fonts (575 K) for an explanation if you’re not sure how to do this. The description is for ANSI fonts, but the same is true for Unicode fonts.

If you want a system-wide solution, try a Windows macro recorder like Perfect Keyboard Pro. I use it to type Unicode in Wordpad. It records keystrokes on the Numeric keypad.

The following code will type an Em-dash, for example:
