How to create .iso features

How to create an .isol forms… I’ve created .init .fina but when I try to create .iso then it is replaced by .fina form..Can you give me script for .iso features? Help me.

This is beyond my knowledge but this reference on Microsoft Typography explains how to implement Isolated Forms.

Is your font Arabic? Do your OpenType features include a script for Arabic?

Which version of FontCreator are you using?

We really need more information, like which characters and glyphs you have, and what names they have.

Not really answering your question, but we have a tutorial about designing Arabic fonts.

Hello.. you can create iso.form by more than one method, but first you must know that there is a (baisc form) as i called it comes like this for example (alef-arabl, beh-arab, tehmarbuta-arab) while iso.form come like this (alef-arabl.iso, beh-arab.iso, tehmarbuta-arab.iso) it is end with (.iso) and you should know it is the same glyphs, i mean all (baisc and isolated) have the same shape design. so:
1- first open new project and delete all latin glyphs except first two glyphs, then copy and paste the glyphs name (basic) inside the insert glyphs window…i put to you attachment (baisc file). try it please.
2- import or draw your design of glyphs for above baisc forms.
3- copy and paste the glyphs name for isolated forms by using insert glyphs window… i put to you attachment (iso form files).
4- copy and paste all designs of baisc form into isolated glyphs.
note that you can put the glyphs name of your language instead of my in attachment file (ARABIC)
hope this is useful..
iso.txt (621 Bytes)
baisc.txt (422 Bytes)
