How to import a graphic and create a character for Word

I would like to create a TTF for use in Word that would contain a series of Logos.

There does not seem to be a simple procedure to Import a graphic and place it in a specific character position.

I have created a Font Family and selected the type of Symbols, but it may have been better to use a type of Characters.

The idea, for example, would be to assign an ‘A’ for Analog Devices and then the user would type an ‘A’ in the Word document using a standard font - but then select the ‘A’ and change the font to my new one. For another logo, say Shell Oil, I could use the character ‘S’, and repeat the exercise.

My question is what are the steps in creating a new Font Family, a new Font, Import the image, assign the image to a character, … and save.

I do not see any intructions on what to do with the image when it appears in the editor - just save it?

If your help file is not working for some unknown reason, you can refer to the online manual. Import Image

I did that, I have successfully loaded the Graphic Image to FC5.

Since the chart of 12 x 17 images where the characters are stored was blank, I selected on of them arbritrarily and imported the graphic (logo).

Now my next question is how to define the character that I would use in Word that would bring up the logo. I noticed that there is a caption for each box, but what I need to do is enter the character that the user would type in the document - and I presume that should be the same as the caption. I am guessing that each box has a binary code the represents the Unicode for each character and this is how the conversion would be made. Is that correct?
