I am looking to do all my fonts with just circle designs. How do I make for example an A. I want to fill in the A with small circles. Like 6 small circles for each leg of the A. 2or3 circles for the cross of the A. How do I get the spacing right on each one? Please help!
I would suggest selecting a spare glyph editing window somewhere other than those you will be using (0-9, A-Z, a-z) and drag in the circle glyph from the left side of the screen. When you have it the size you want, copy it to the clip board, then paste it and move to the desired places until you have a full background pattern.
Copy the whole pattern to the clipboard , then open the window for A and paste it in. Design your A. Don’t forget to reverse the contour direction of all inner contours, then delete all undesired circles.
Or, try it the other way around. Do the glyph first, then drop the circles on it. Check for contour overlaps, validate glyph, and move on to the next glyph.
