It looks like there is a lot of help available here, but I still haven’t gotten a solution for my earlier mentioned problem. Is it even solvable?
I’m obviously quite new at this and am still learning the vocabulary. My daughter and I are looking forward to creating several fonts, but I’m now on day 14 of my evaluation and am not certain whether this program is going to do what we need or not.
Surely this problem is somewhat related to the ligatures in a cursive script, at least in the horizontal (or is it vertical) direction.
I’ve done searches and looked in the manual, but have found no help so far. Can or will anyone help us out?
The answer that Erwin gave to smderrick about how to calculate WinAscent and such helped a bit. I no longer have the vertical white lines running through my font. Thank you so much.
It also improved the horizontal white lines, now they only show up between every 18th and 19th line.
It’s an improvement, but how do I eliminate the rest of the lines? Is this in any way related to my having set units per em to 2000 instead of a power of two? Or do I just have more problems than I am aware of?
Oh, by the way, the note given in another post regarding testing the font in windows by using the test font name FCP01234 (or whatever) was extremely helpful. (might you consider putting that in your Tips sedtion?)
Nevermind. I was wrong again…
It didn’t help after all. When the font is used at higher than 14 point the lines are still there (whimper whimper).
Is there any help for this or not?
