Import .AI (Export from CorelDraw14) Size Issue

Hello

I am just download the Demo version of FC6.5, issue is when I import vector image (.AI) Size not maintain, mean import one file then 2nd both size not match. (design 1 & 2 in CorelDraw both are same H & W Export both as a .AI In FC6.5 If I import or Drag it both size show mismatch. Please let me know it is bug or I will do wrong.

currently I am using FontLab 6 in that import image are fine as same as original design even node are same but in FC6.5 there is some extra node seen when I import .ai. but If I import image in FL6 it will not import in baseline you need to select & drag to base line but in FC6.5 it will import proper if size issue solve then i will go for FC6.5 because there is more then 40,000 .ai files need to import.

SM

I doubt if this is a bug. See this thread.

The images need to use the same paper size to be imported at the same proportions.

It will probably help if you can zip a few sample AI files, and attach them to the forum.

After importing, all glyphs can be resized and moved using the glyph transform wizard.

Please download & unzip .AI files just drag & drop to FC6.5 & check the size issue.

Specifically the Position option on Glyph Transformer will align designs to the baseline.

Please attach a zip file to the forum.

BE.zip (5.5 KB)
As per your post I am able to attached zip file within a forum.

I was able to open the files in CorelDraw 9, and all seem to be drawn on A4. The images are not all the same size on the page.

If I drag them into FontCreator they are all imported at the same size, so I can confirm the problem.

We will have to wait for Erwin or Leon to tell us what the problem is.

FontCreator makes use of the BoundingBox (e.g. %%BoundingBox:6449 35468 6752 35827) to resize the outlines.

If you can keep those the same in all your .ai documents, then FontCreator should resize them all the same.

Dear Erwin Denissen

Thanks for very good suggestion now my problem is solve I can do with bounding box.

On Monday I will go for FC6.5
