It matters HOW you SORT your glyphs

Greetings all!

This isn’t a request for support, but rather an observation that could be useful to someone else.

I had a problem with myFont (symbol font) in Adobe Indesign. myFont would appear and would work, but a glyph which I had properly mapped to “a” would type on the “b” key. This problem persisted with about half the glyphs.

Problem solved however! It turns out (someone correct me if I am wrong or mixed up) that it matters HOW you SORT your glyphs! In order for Indesign to read the mappings correctly, the NORMAL FOUR empty boxes must be sorted to the FIRST FOUR entries of your glyph index when you save.

It should not matter, as long as you follow the guidelines:

That said, sorting by postscript name breaks that recommendation. I’ll add it to the bug list.
