I have a purchased copy of Main Type version 7 that will not open . I have used it on this computer before, but don’t remember exactly when. I am given this message and don’t know what to do with it. I have gone to my start and clicked the High Logic Main Type config option, but it still does not open.
Click on Start to run the FontService, which need to be running for MainType to start, and needs to be stopped to make backups.
So many things could have gone wrong, so it is impossible to solve the issue without more information.
However it is likely that MainType 8 will run just fine, so it is easiest to upgrade to version 8.
If you don’t want to upgrade, then you probably have to fully uninstall version 7 and then reinstall it.
