Math Type

Hi,

I added to Tahoma some additional characters like H with dot above, M with dot above, Q with dot above etc.

I use MathType and writing with new font Tahoma. But MathType doesn’t show my new characters.

Why doesn’t it show my new characters?

Thank you very much.

What code-points did you map them to? Does Math Type support glyphs in the Private Use Area like Windows Character Map does?

Hi,
Actullay I am not an expert.
What do you me an by “code point”
Thank you

I just created a new character and copied for example H. Then added the dot above it. So I created a new character with the dot.

Did you insert a glyph (which can’t be used directly) or did you insert a character (which has a code point that can be accessed in word processing software)?

Hi,
I inserted characters

For example:
H with dot above: 0180
M with dot above: 0182
Q with dot above: 0184

Thank you

Unicode code point 180 (decimal) is Acute Accent.

Sorry,
I couldn^t understand what did you mean.
Thank you

180 is the decimal codepoint for acute accent.

Use shortcut Ctrl+J to switch to decimal codepoints
Use shortcut Ctrl+K to switch to hexadecimal codepoints

If those are the codepoints you have used to map your new glyphs, they are in the Latin-Extended B character set.

Does MathType support these characters from the same character set: ƒǺǻǼǽǾǿƠơƯư (they all exist in Tahoma New)

Hi,
Thank you very much.
I cannot find H with dot above etc in Word symbol windows with ASCII (decimal)
Thank you

H with dot above is in Latin Extended Additional. It does not exist in your Tahoma New font.

I think your problem is that you have not installed your modified font, and MathType is only seeing the default Tahoma font.

Hi,
I am sure that I installed the modified font because word use the modified font but somehow MathType uses the default font.
Thank you
