Modify an existing font by adding an "X" over it..

Hi,

Please be patient with me… this is the first time I’ve had to create a font and the first time using FontCreator. I’ve read the manual but am still quite confused.

I need to take an existing font and place an “X” over it. Sounds simple enough… :unamused:

I’ve renamed the existing font and have opened up and tried to edit but am getting absolutely no where…

Can someone help me with this first time creation??? It would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks so much :stuck_out_tongue:

  • Open the uppercase X in the glyph edit window (double-click, enter)
  • Copy the X glyph contour to the clipboard.
  • Press Alter Right to move to the Y
  • Paste in the X glyph
  • Reposition or resize horizontally using the mouse until it looks good
  • Press Alter Right to move to the Z
  • Repeat
  • Press Alt Left to move back to the W
  • Repeat for the rest of the Capitals
  • Close the glyph edit window
  • Open again for the lowercase x
  • Repeat the process for the lowercase glyphs
  • Repeat using X or x for the remaining digits etc.

Just wanted to say thanks so much. I knew it had to be simple..not sure exactly what i was doing wrong… but I am creating fonts as we speak… so mission accomplished!!

Thanks again…
Have a great day!!
