My font doesn't work in Microsoft Word..

Hi place forgive me, my english isn’t good.

I “create” a font from a bitmap and then I saved it like a regular font..
Then ehen I go to Microsoft Word for use it, The name apears in the list but it don’t work… it isn’t interpreted by the WORD… and types with a defect regular font …

What’s happening? why it doesn’t work?

Could you give some more information, so we can determine the exact cause of the problem?

How did you create the font? Did you import an image? Have you added outlines to all glyphs?

Does you font work in the Test window?

With this information we probably will find the cause of the problem. On the other hand, it might be easier to just read this tutorial.

Hi.. place forgive me, I go to explain my self..

Yes my font works in the Test Window.. I also try with new fonts, and configure this exactley like my first font and it works.. so I think I get an idea of what can it be.. When one create a new font it apeares a window like this:

In character set with this new fonts I set unicode.. and all other settings iqually… however I can’t remember what I set up in character in my first font that does’t work…

  1. Yes I also Import all my characters.. from bitmaps images (.bmp)
  2. I don’t think that I create outlines.., no..

Place forgive me.. for be so short.. I is pretty hard to me write in english so fast..

Check Format, Platforms. If you started the New Font as a symbol font you will have:

Macintosh Roman
Microsoft Symbol

If you started the new font as a Unicodoe font you will have:

Macintosh Roman
Microsoft Unicode BMP only

I don’t see anything wrong with your font. Maybe you have installed an earlier version of your font and Windows is still showing that one. To confirm this is happening, you could try this:
Test your font through Font Creator’s Test window. Keep that window open and start MS Word. Now look for a font named “FCP Test Font (and five digits)”. Use that font in order to confirm it is displaying your font. In that case a reboot might help. If not FiFoFo might be able to locate and solve the problem. You can download FiFoFo from the download page.
