Only one variation of a font will install

Hello,

When I install one variant of a font all goes well.
When I attempt to install another variation of that same font family, the install goes well in mainType and the font goes green.
But when I try to use that second variation in an app, it does not show up.

Any idea what this could be?

Are these by any chance Adobe fonts ? We’ve seen this happen with those when the family contains more than 4 different styles. MainType has no problem with those, but most other programs (like MS word for example) do not support more than 4 (regular, bold, italic and bold italic).
