my problem is that I have an OTF-Fonts with too much line space. I load the font into Font-Editor and correct the problem, and then save the corrected font as TTF-file. But the problem is that the new font is hard to read on screen. When printing everything works fine, but the display on screen is defective. Any one knows advice?
The only solution is to add the hinting back again with another program.
You can modify the line-spacing of a TTF font without losing the hinting, but as far as I know you lose the hinting when you open an OTF font because the tables used for hinting are not supported. You will see in Format, Tables that the button to remove hinting is greyed out.
