overlapping glyphs

Hello

I am trying to make a font that when you type the glyphs overlap. some of the glyphs overlap and some of them don’t. How do I get all of them to overlap? The font I am trying to create is hebrew with vowels. If I need to send the font I can.

The amount of overlap is controlled by the glyph bearings.
If you have a letter with a long tail, place the right bearing just after the letter and allow the tail to extend to the right beyond the bearing as long as you wish.

Combining diacritical marks (accents) usually have an advanced width of zero and a negative left side bearing.

thanks for your replies, they did help. I am now running into the problem that when i overlap more then 2 glyphs the glyphs stop lining up. Any input would be appreciative.
