Oversize Font Problem - part II

I have another problem, this time with a different font, when trying to print.
It is not exactly due to the oversize of the font. The printer can handle it, so can all programs.

Please take a look at this image, it shows the font being edited in FCP5:

When I print it on size 100 or so, the diagonal lines show up uneven and ugly,
some are ignored by the printer and some show up stronger than they should.
However, when I print it on size 50 (half of the previous) it shows up fine. The diagonal lines, although being quite small, appear perfectly.

I’ve tried already to duplicate the number of diagonal lines, so to achieve the same effect as if they were half the size, to print them on size 100. But the result was even worst than before. On size 50, it showed up all black.

My printer is new, Laserjet from HP.

How can I manage to make the diagonal lines show nice in size 100, as they do in size 50? Any clues as to why this is happening?

Welcome again Jonatasm

  1. I know little of this subject.
  2. Thumbs should always point to the right.
  3. Betcha go through black ink fast!
  4. Some of those diagonal lines are already uneven.
  5. What application do you print this from?
  6. Betcha need hinting! Ohmygod!

Let’s ask Joe.
