pasted in objects all have small cropped corners not sharp

when i am editing a glyph and i paste in artwork it always seems to have very small cropped corners instead of being sharp? but all of the internal white shapes have sharp corners? is this normal? or is there a prefered file format to start from or should i open a file instead of pasting in?

It is caused by the smoothing filter, which is used when you paste from the clipboard. It is also the default when you import an image. Check the box for Smooth filter, None, and the rounded corners will disappear.

If you check the “Default” checkbox on the import image dialogue, when “Smooth filter, None” is selected, that will then be used when you paste from the clipboard.

Thanks for asking the question, as I only just discovered the default option. I do most of my importing from the clipboard, and rarely use the import image dialogue, because the former method is much quicker when pasting a whole alphabet.

This fact is mentioned in the help file, under Import Image, but I overlooked it until now.

excellent thank you. i pasted the image in and you are right, nice sharp corners.

Thanks for posting the question Iain. I too had overlooked this valuable bit of information.

AND a special thanks to Bhikkhu Pesala for always being there!
