If one will look at the contour pen tool in FCP,there is a "plus sign thingy"at its tip.It might be helpful to have this same “thingy” added to the knife tool.Sometimes I’ll drag guidelines across my letters before I use the Knife tool and try to make a percision cut right on this line.Getting perfect alignment is sometimes difficult.Thanks and have a great day.
That might help, but also try cutting in points mode. Then the knife will snap to the nodes, making a precise cut easier, that is assuming you want to cut where there are nodes, which is not always the case.
It would help more, I think, if the knife would snap to guidelines.
