Hi, I am really new at this program (1st day) and I am trying to edit one of the letters in an existing font. When I save the font in an alternate location (my desktop) from the original, then I go and double click on it (on the desktop), all the letters are gone in the window that pops up. The name is the only information that is there. I have tried not making any changes and just saving it exactly as I opened it, but the same results. I tried the autonaming tool and couldn’t see any changes. I was able to edit and install one other font first and thought I knew what the heck I was doing but apparently not. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Welcome to the Forum. Sorry your first post has to be to solve a problem. Sorry I’ve not had anything strange happen when doing what you described.
I opened an existing font in Font Creator, changed a glyph and did a Save As to the desktop. I can see the icon on the desktop and when I double click it my CharMap comes up and I see my changed character – along with all the other characters in the font. Nothing is awry. It’s a Text font.
If it is a Symbol font – I can’t tell you how to work with Symbol fonts! What I do, which is unconscionable, is to convert it to a Text font, changing the platform and Font/Settings/Ranges/Calculate… I do this because I don’t know how to work with maps in the 61000 range.
I have a somewhat guilty conscience, so we should invite somebody else to tell you how to do it right! I will listen!
