Problems importing eps

I am having problems importing vector outlines into Font Creator. Most of the letters import just fine, but when I am trying to copy and paste a letter with more that one part to it, the lowercase “i” for example, it doesn’t paste in correctly, the dot get moved around. What am I doing wrong here? I’ve tried setting my clipboard settings to AICB and tried both different check boxes, as well as the PDF option, but nothing seems to work.

Have you tried drag and drop of the EPS files from explorer into FontCreator?

Please zip a few of the eps files together and attach the archive to the forum for testing.

this is the file I’m working on. Any help would be appreciated.

I played with your eps file and had no trouble moving each letter into position. Make sure you select the entire letter before copying.

I placed the eps in first glyph then set up a split screen (Window/Tile Horizontal) to have the big image and individual letters showing at the same time.

After selecting and copying each letter to the appropriate letter position I used the Glyph Transformer to Position the characters to the coordinates 0,0 as they were copied to the same relative position as in the single image (Tools/Glyph Transformer/Outlines/Position, Coverage Full, Horizontal and Vertical at 0, Map to lower left corner).

I set verrtical metrics (Format/Settings/Metrics) at default and left/right boundaries (Tools/Autometrics) at default. I re-sized the letters larger (perhaps by 200%).

Next steps would be to fine tune these settings, such as moving the Q below the line..

Nice looking design!

Hey Dick, thanks so much! I was just copying and pasting each individual letter from illustrator to Font Creator, and was having the problems, but I tried what you suggested and dragged the eps file into a slot, and sure enough, they were all there as they should be! Worked great, this should help a ton!
