Problems in Loading Images

Hi, I am new to font creation applications. When i import any image, i see the source image and the image in the right (preview area) is good. But when i click the load button, i am not getting the desired output, even though adjusting various thresold levels.


Is there is any tutorials available in the site associated with this application to learn to make signature as font and logo as fonts.

Pls advise.

At the moment I’m trying to improve the Import Image feature. Your images could help me find the best algoritm for the import.

Hi Erwin,

I would be happy, if somebody assist me. I had imported my logo and other pictures in various formats - jpg, bmp, wmf etc., I wonder even importing vector based files like wmf gets distorted when it is loaded using the import option.

Do the folliwing is the professional way to do logo to font as…

  1. set the image as background
  2. Use contours to draw outline over it.


    The alphabetic characters in the picture is geting distorted more.

I find it very tetious. I appreciate if somebody could help me.

You’ve got great timing, I’ve almost completed the improved import feature. Here are some results:

Current import image (39 contours; 367 points):

New import image (39 contours; 539 points):

And here are both in a Test window:

I’ve put both results in this sample font:
senate font

I hope to release a new version within a few days. If you like the results just be patient :wink:

I seem to be having the same problem, using build 4.1.11.159.63.

Forgive my ignorance, but I only downloaded the demo yesterday. The information in the help file is somewhat lacking, eg it doesn’t even mention the Bounding[ Image / Contour ] option.

This is the best I can get it, after playing with various thresholds.

Any ideas?
Would a higher resolution input image help?

I’m also not sure how to set up the size properly, but one thing at a time :wink:

On a different note… I made a test with just one letter. It showed up in the “Test Font” dialog box ok, but when I tried it in any other program, it just came out blank. I made sure to properly uninstall the font, and restarted the applications, but nothing…
