hi, I’ve recently downloaded a font that is too small!!!
for example, the font arial at size 8 is still readable but the font i’ve downloaded not even at size 10 is readable…
so i want to ask u if there’s any way to enlarge this font, for example, the actual 10 size of the font will be the 7 or 8th size so that the first readable size of the font will be the 8 or 9.
i’ve found a way to do what i want that is to select ine letter, then in the transformation box select scale and apply the scale u want, is there any way to do this (or something simmilar) to all letters at once?
As is usual from Erwin, there are many ways to do this.
Save your font! I suggest place it in a new folder and alter the name.
Select Tools, Glyph Transformer, All, Outlines, Scale, use arrow.
Set amount of magnification you want 200% - 300%
Set Around - I would use fixed point X =0, Y=0, OK.
You will get a warning. Proceed only if you have a backup (1. above)
If you don’t like the results, close the font without saving, and start over.
Tip: If you want to change the size or add lower case glyphs in a “free font,” from the Overview Window select the first (or last) glyph, hold down the Shift Key and select the other end of any range of glyphs and only alter that range.
Or Select Format, Settings, Metrics.
When all else fails, read the instructions. Select Help, index, then type in any word you need help with such as Glyph Transformer, Font Settings, Metrics.
Or press F1. Thanks Trimmy!
Hi.. I’ve have tryed this.. but now i have a problem.. When i use the font in word, i can only see the lower half of the letters… Do you know how i can fix this?
This i all pretty new to me, and i can’t figure out how to mowe the black lines that i asume must be the ones telling my computer only to show a half letter.
To change the top and bottom of a font; select Settings from the Format menu to open the Font Settings window and select the Metrics page. Here you can change the Win Ascent (Top) and Win Descent (Bottom). You should also update the other ascender and descender values. To update all values at once, press the Calculate button.
