I am wondering if there is a way to close/lock/secure a font to prevent any modifications by others

There are no effective methods for protecting fonts unless you are willing to do so through the courts.

High-Logic should really come up with a practical solution for that.

I don’t see how any practical solution could be found. If a font can be installed for legitimate use, it can be opened in any font editor and modified for illegal resale.
