Some fonts appear red in view window

I’ve looked through the manual and failed to find an explanation: why do some of my fonts appear in red in the View window?

One reason is when the font doesn’t included one or more glyphs in the preview text string.

It helps when Finding Fonts that support certain characters because those that don’t are highlighted in red.
