I am trying to sort glyphs but it is not working.
There is a message which states that you have to wait minutes for it to work … but I have waited much longer with no result.
Then I reduce the number of glyphs significantly … but I still have the same issue.
I am using version 6.
Why is this happening.
How many glyphs are there in your font?
Is it a huge CJK font?
The sort feature has been significantly improved over the years, as a sort will now take less than a second.
I ran a quick comparison test on the TITUS Cyberbit Basic, which has just over 10,000 glyphs.
FontCreator 6.5 took about 20 seconds, but there was no option to undo the sort.
FontCreator 9.1 took less than 1 second, with the option to undo the sort.
It’s an otf file.
Please understand that not everyone has the option to upgrade your software.
I am sure that Erwin understands that, but then you should understand that if you want improvements then you need to upgrade. He is not going to backdate improvements to earlier versions.
I was able to sort a CJK font with over 34,000 glyphs using FontCreator 6.5. It took about 4 minutes, but it did not fail. FontCreator 9.1 did it in a second. You did not yet tell us how many glyphs are in this font.
If you can provide the font, I can test it in FontCreator 6.5, but I don’t have FontCreator 6.0 installed. I don’t think there would be much difference regarding sorting fonts between these two versions.
I have 200 glyphs.
I’m not looking for improvements.
Just wanting to know if a setting has to be changed.
I’m sorry but there is no setting to fix it. We improved the feature in more recent versions so it now works amazingly fast and accurate.
