Hello. New to font creation. I am creating a font for myself and a couple friends to use. I am not making a hugely complete font with every character available. So far, I have been successful with creating the font and getting it formatted and typing well in Word. However, I am running into an issue now with certain symbols that I would like to be able to use. I have created a dollar sign and percent sign symbol from scratch and have them scaled and sized and they are assigned to the right glyphs. However, here is the problem. When I install the font and type with it, Word will type out every letter, number, and all of the symbols that I need. But, it will not recognize the dollar sign or the percent sign and will instead type a square. I do not understand what is going on and I have not been able to find anything on the forum relating to this specifically. Any help will be appreciated. Cheers
Hard to tell what the problem is without the font.
Do the $ and % symbols work in the Font Test window?
No, the two characters do not show up in the font test window. They appear as a square.
Nevermind. I think I figured out what is going on. Cheers
I guess that you’re using the unregistered version. This will save a subset of characters so that users can preview it, but not enough to produce a usable font. The following characters are included:
A-Z, a-z, 0-9, !=?@-,./ and\
