I think I’ve done it all correctly, following the tutorial on http://myfirstfont.com, but when I try to open it from the windows/fonts folder, all I see is this:
It previews in FC just fine. I don’t know what could cause this!

I’m curious to know what fields have been missed out if you followed the tutorial to the letter. Unless you have deleted some by mistake. Please send me your font as it is by email.
Then try uninstalling the font.
Run Tools, Autonaming Wizard and reinstall it. If some required fields are missing this would lead to the font not being recognised by Windows, but at least the Font Family name is showing correctly.
It looks like a clean font to me
But serious, this can be the result of installing a font, and then later save a modified version on top of the installed font. This usually results in problems with Windows intenral fonts table. A reboot should solve such issues.
Let us know your results.
Thanks, re-booting worked. I was so frustrated, too, I can’t beleive it was so simple!
