Winamp Does not kern using update 1970.

Erwin,

I know we spoke of this earlier and winamp is really not your problem but maybe you have a few ideas for me… I want to use the latest update but after every permutation of exporting (ttf, legacy table, no names etc.) winamp just doesn’t like this update. So right now I have two of your programs on my computer one with the latest and one with the previous update to that to use to make winamp capable fonts. The 1950 update kerns and even uses calt features in winamp, but not so in 1970 or 9.1. As I’ve said I’ve tried every permutation of export settings with the same results. I love listening to music and to see my fonts on my playlist gives me a rush, I’d like to keep up to date with the updates you’ve recently acheived, but I’m stuck if I want to use font in winamp. I anticipate the help you’ll give me ahead of time.

Thanks,

Jonne

We’ve just released another update, do let us know if that solves the problem.

I have tried all the permutations of the new update 9.1 as soon as i could hoping for a fix. But alas…no joy.

Sorry to be a “bug”

I’ve just found the cause of the problem.

You accidentally enabled “Ignore Base Glyphs”. With this option all glyphs with GlyphType set to Simple are skipped. Obviously most/all of your kerning glyphs are simple.

So uncheck that box, and all should work again!

Ignore Base Glyphs.jpg
Installed with ignore base glyphs unchecked but still no joy, what am I doing wrong?

Can you send the font and/or the font project to me?

I only had that checked the day I sent you the file. Otherwise since it’s been unchecked. There just seems to be something different between 1950 and 1970 that causing problems. IDK.

Gladly!

Please can you also send me a font file (exported through 1950) so I can see how that one works?

Sure give me a sec

Here’s the latest from 1950 of just kerned font

This version also seems to fail on kerning in WinAmp. At least on my old Win XP.

If you want to teamview, I’m open to that

Winamp’s latest is 5.666. Are you using that?

I just checked it and it works on my end.

I really want to find the cause of this problem…

The latest version (9.1.0.1991) did solve the problem.

Better avoid using the older versions!
