I have the exact same problem. I recently purchased v 8.0 professional edition, but I cannot get my CJK fonts to display properly in Word 2007. Fonts made in an older version of Font Creator work fine, so I feel there is something I am not setting properly in the newer version. Can anyone help with this?
I split the topic as the previous thread was about an earlier version of FontCreator.
Check the Export Settings for your project. I think you need to include the Custom Script for the OpenType GSUB Table.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, changing that setting does not work. I can’t determine what the problem is here. I have tried changing all sorts of settings that seem even vaguely related to this, but Word 2007 just refuses to acknowledge this as a valid CJK font. As I said, it is not a problem with Word itself, since it’s only since the Font Creator upgrade that the font has stopped working.
I will contact you on Monday to resolve the issue.
I’ve jst received the font files and have noticed a possibly cause for this issue.
Your original font has a specific codepage set, and that one is missing from your latest version.
Try to see if this helps:
Go to the Font Properties dialog, and select the Ranges tab.
Click the Edit button to modify the Code Page Character Ranges as follows:
Then make sure the settings are not automatically updated on export, by unchecking the setting:
Let us know if this solves the problem.
Thank you very much. It is working now. It seems that the automatic character range update feature was removing the JIS range, as it seems you noticed. Unchecking that box solves the problem. Thanks again.
Yes, that is correct. I’m glad to know that solved the issue.
You are welcome! I will send you an email with a more recent version, which includes a fix for this issue.
