I’ve been making my own font (preview here: http://www.acko.net/dump/extralard-3.png ) and everything’s been going fine. I just have one weird issue: in the font dropdown in Word, my font is displayed in Tahoma rather than in the font itself. Word normally only does this for symbolic fonts, but my font is a regular Microsoft Unicode font (with Macintosh Roman mappings). The only ‘exotic’ thing I’ve done is map my uppercase letters to lowercase as well.
Word is not a critical appliation for me, but if my font is not being read correctly there then maybe other compatibility issues could pop up too. Does anyone have an idea what’s causing this? I did mess around a bit in my font’s settings and mappings, but as far as I can see, nothing is set to symbolic. Things I’ve checked:
- I’m using Microsoft Unicode, not Microsoft Symbol
- My font family/style/classification is not pictoral or symbolic.
My font works fine when typing with it in Word as well.
