Old versions of FontCreator used to have a Platform Manager tool that allowed you to choose which platform/encoding to support in the font. Recent versions do not have this feature, but automatically use a particular set of platforms and encodings. This means that if I do not want to support Unicode platform (which is not required for Windows) I have to reopen the font in FontCreator 5.6 and delete it using Platform Manager.

Please could you reintroduce Platform Manager to FontCreator, so I can have more control over my font!

No, as this decision was made to further improve FontCreator. Now people don't have to worry about the specific platforms, and encoding issues have also been eliminated.

Windows and Unicode both point to the same cmap encoding table, so if we would allow you to exclude the Unicode platform the file size would be reduced by 8 bytes.
