Some suggestions
Some suggestions
Hi,
During my work I have find some issue, i request to enhancement please... thank you:
1- about adding set left side ...... x=0 left side bearing to transformer wizard because some glyphs missed out x=0 when using this wizard, i don't know why?.
2- about adding win Descent and win Ascent to open type designer window, so the users will ensure that mark positions not to be outside.
3- about make user able to multi select glyphs in new substitution window.

Re: Some suggestions
1) Is already available.
3) Using glyph classes would save time in the long run. jeem-arab, hah-arab, khah-arab could be in one class, reh-arab, zain-arab in another, and seen-arab, sheen-arab in another.

Re: Some suggestions
I see your Transform Wizard window, there is a script: "left side bearing point at x=0". I use version 14.0.0.2814 and the script doesn't exist. Do you know where did they move the script?

Re: Some suggestions
With version 14 the left side bearing point is always set at x=0, so the option is no longer available.

Erwin, thanks for the reply.
But if the left side bearing point is always set at x=0, why the generated font have this problem?
Even though I have set the metrics and kerning carefully.

Re: Some suggestions
In your export settings you have set OpenType Layout Features to No, so the kerning is not part of your exported font.

Re: Some suggestions
I have followed your instructions, but there is no change. (already uninstall the last font, and install the new one to windows).

Yes, the kerning is part of the OpenType layout features.Surianto Rustan wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 12:02 pm Oh sorry, you mean that I have to change the open type layout feature to yes?
Also be aware you need to manually enable kerning in Word.

It works just fine here, so you must be doing something wrong.Surianto Rustan wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 12:23 pm Erwin, when I change the opentype layout feature to yes, the result is the same, no change
Where do you test, and did you make sure kerning is enabled?

Re: Some suggestions
Does Notepad support kerning?
Fix side-bearing first, then apply kerning for those pairs like AW, or vy where kerning is needed.
