3D modelling font

Post by William »

Readers might like to have a copy of the following font.

http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~ngo/BUILD_3D.TTF

The purpose of the font is so that 3D objects can be produced using the Insert Text Tool of a 3D modelling program.

Readers might like to know that a free copy of a 3D design software package, named 3DPlus2, can be obtained from the following link.

http://www.freeserifsoftware.com

The 3DPlus2 program is an earlier version of the ImpactPlus program available at the http://www.serif.co.uk and http://www.serif.com webspace.

I have ImpactPlus (which was not called ImpactPlus 4 as such, but the next version, the current version, is called ImpactPlus 5) and it is a big improvement over 3DPlus2 as it has numerical positioning of objects. However, 3DPlus2 is FREE and so I got a copy recently so that I could try writing items to put on the web which people could try without needing to spend money buying software.

Anyway, bearing in mind that many readers here also make fonts and that trying to make a special font to produce 3D objects is fun, I thought that some readers might perhaps be interested.

Also, the package is good for producing 3D models of lettering. I have found that my own Gothic Splendour and Stones fonts (both available from the http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~ngo/fonts.htm webpage) look good in 3D.
