I suggest colorising all of the punctuation to the same colour. It could be any colour.

It will be interesting to observe which particular colour you choose.
Or maybe various colours will be used.
Maybe some glyphs, such as ! ? % and maybe $ will have more than one colour in the glyph.

Support for Colour Fonts is still very limited. Firefox and Vivaldi (Chrome) support them.
You can see
A Test Page for my colour font, Odana. If your browser supports colour, the heading will be in colour.

What a lovely colourful font. I can see it finding a lot of applications for young children.
