Problems with exporting fonts to html

Post by LadySita »

I want to export a font collection to html, but all I get is plain text.
I can't figure out how I can get a preview of my fonts in html format.

There must be an option somewhere, but I can't find it.
I hope there is someone who can help me out.

The option is on the first dialogue of the Font Export Wizard.

Tools, Export Font Information, All Fonts or Selected Fonts, HTML

The result is something like this: WordPerfect Fonts
My FontsReviews: MainTypeFont CreatorHelpFC15 + MT12.0 @ Win 10 64-bit build 19045.2486

Yes, i understand that. That's not the problem.

The problem is that my output is not similar as yours. In your example, the wordperfect fonts, you can see a preview of each font.

When I export my collection to html, all I see is the plain text of the fonts and not the previews.

I uploaded my fonts collection so you can see what I mean. I hope you can come up with a solution.

Look here for the example: http://www.rjct.nl/carmen/fonts/index.html

I've noticed you uploaded the .html .css and .ico files, but you need to upload the whole images folder (with subfolders) as well.

Yes I did upload those folders. But I notice now that my images/font folder is empty.

When I use the export wizzard, all the html files are made. But there are not made images of my fonts, so now it's obvious why I can't see the previews of the fonts.

In the Fonts Export folder I can imagine that automatically de images/font folder has to be filled by using the wizzard, but that is not the case.

What do I have to do so the images of the fonts are made?

Excuse me for my bad english, it's hard to explain this way but I hope you understand my question.

I understand the problem, so don’t worry about your English  . However if you prefer Dutch, just send a private message to me.

Unfortunately I can't image why the images aren't there. Can you please give us some more information about your system, what version of MainType you are running and what settings you use during the export.

Ok, I am glad you understand the problem

I have made some screenshots, with the settings I used, but all of them are in my opinion standard settings. The only thing I changed is the location of the output folder.

I use windows XP and MainType version 2.0 (build 0).

When I click the finish button, all the html files are made and also this subfolder:

I believe that in that subfolder 'fonts' the images of the fonts should be stored, but that directory stays empty.....

I hope you can figure out what is wrong and why I can't get the images.

Empty folder

Perhaps I am missing something?

It looks to me as if the images are being directed into the next folder up from your "Fonts" folder. You just need to change the folder to be used.

For now you can just move them manually. Feel free to email me if I'm all wet.

I really don't know why this is happening. To exclude some things, I need to know some more information. Does this always happen, even when you export just a single font to a folder located on your c: drive?

Hi LadySita,

Have you been able to successfully generate a HTML export of your fonts? If not could you please try it with only a handful of fonts and let us know your results.
