Custom layout as default layout

I'm using MainType 3.0. Is there any way to set Custom Layout 1 as the Default Layout? It's inconvenient to reset the layout every time I restart MainType. I believe V2 remembered this, but V3 doesn't.

Here on Windows XP it starts up with whatever layout I was using the last time, which is what I would expect.
