Yes, that is actually the recommended way to use our font manager!
Re: Start program as ordinary user
When our users try to start Main Type, the program starts in elevated state, and they are forced to be local admin or type admin credentials ?? How to avoid this?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Start program as ordinary user
This was default with MainType 3, so I suspect they are still running the old version.
Can you please confirm this?

Yes I can confirm that they are running version 4.5. They cant start main type with out running elevated. I think it is a upgrade from version 3... I have just downloaded version 5, and planning to deploy new machine to them. Do you have a guide on how to make MSI file that can be used for deployment?

Re: Start program as ordinary user
Then I suspect the "Run this program as an administrator" property is inadvertently enabled.
C:\Program Files (x86)\High-Logic MainType\MainType.exe
Also check to see if it is set on the Program files shortcut found in Windows start menu. E.g.
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\High-Logic MainType\High-Logic MainType.lnk
MainTypeSetup.exe /SP- /VERYSILENT /NORESTART
Let me know your results.
Please check if this setting is enabled on the MainType.exe file, and then disable it. It is most likely located at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\High-Logic MainType\MainType.exe
Also check to see if it is set on the Program files shortcut found in Windows start menu. E.g.
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\High-Logic MainType\High-Logic MainType.lnk
We suggest you use this unattended installation procedure:gimle007 wrote:I have just downloaded version 5, and planning to deploy new machine to them. Do you have a guide on how to make MSI file that can be used for deployment?

Re: Start program as ordinary user
Thanks. That was the problem. Somehow the "Run as administrator" checkbox was checked... Thanks
Regards to deployment.
What about adding serial (licencing), cant that be done in deployment, so there is no need for IT personal to manuel inter the serial?
Thanks
