Hello,

I have a font which is installed correctly, but which is listed with status RED in Active view, see screenshot:

In the Library view, however, this font is not listed.

What does the red status mean, and how do I fix it, so it is green again?

It means it is not installed, only loaded.

A loaded font (also known as a temporary installed font) is added to the system font table, but not to the font related part of the registry. Because all fonts in the system font table are available to all applications, loaded fonts (just like installed fonts) are available to all applications. However loaded fonts are no longer available after the system is rebooted.

Isn't that indicated by a blue ball rather than a red one? :?

I had a couple of fonts displaying a red ball just now. I had to delete them from MainType (without deleting them from my hard drive!) and then reinstall them to get them showing up with a green ball.

It is all explained in the manual:
http://www.high-logic.com/maintype/manu ... -list.html

[transparent] The font is not loaded and not installed
[green] The font is installed and loaded
[blue] The font is loaded through MainType and can be unloaded
[orange] The font is installed, but not loaded
[red] The font is loaded by an external application and MainType cannot determine where it is located. The font cannot be unloaded through MainType.
[gray] At least one font of a family is loaded (only visible when family grouping is enabled)
