With MainType 7.0 backup and restore, is it possible to 'restore' to a second computer? I have the same fonts on my laptop as I have on my desktop, but after installing MainType on the laptop too, I don't have the tags I took the (very long) time to tag all my fonts. I tried saving the backup and restoring it to the new install on the laptop, but it gave me an error that the vault couldn't be found (which was fixed with an uninstall/reinstall, but not restore).
In short, I'd like to share the backup with the second computer. Possible?
How does one restore a font collection to another PC?

The backup and restore feature should work, so do try again.

I tried several times. It's saying vault000 can't be found, and won't even open the program on the second computer when that error comes up.

Did you backup the entire folder and move it to the other PC?

Hi, I'm using this method for sync between my 3 units; home pc, office pc and notebook. Having some small issues in the beginning my procedure now are (and works good):
The "home pc" is the one that I use for main library and where I make updates and changes. When making the backup I also copy the main librarys to the same place in the os for resp unit (if I have done changes ... erasing or completing with fonts)
I have also arranged so I have the same fonts installed in Windows OS standard folder for typefaces "Fonts"
1. Deactivate all fonts in "FE"
2. Make backup

3. Copy the created backup library to the destination units harddrive, (if changed, also the main librarys with fonts updated)
4. Deactivate all fonts in "FE" on the destination unit
5. Restore backup from the new backuplibrary
6. Start up "FE" and let it complete the full index procedure before using
Maybee a little overkill, but if I do it like this I have no problems. Works OK until there will be a separate sync (online) function.

Yes, I moved the entire folder. It still isn't finding vault000.
