Disable showing un-available charecters

Post by Encore »

Hi,

Some fonts don't have all glyphs for all languages. In my case, I have some Arabic fonts that don't have Latin characters but MainType still show the default font to replace the missings glyphs. How can I disable this? I want to be able to see a font real preview.

Example:

It is Windows that draws the text inside the preview, and we can't control how it displays the text. Windows aims to show text even when characters are missing, so people are still able to read the text. It is not what you want, but it is how Windows works.

It certainly isn’t Arial. It looks more like Helvetica, but it isn’t that either.
