I create a PDF of a character set of a font via the print menu in Maintype (via Adobe PDF-PrintDriver, which is installed by Adobe Acrobat).
However, in the PDF the font no longer has its original PostScript font name (the Full Font Name), but has a fantasy name like TMP292R10..... .
How do I write out the character set correctly so that the original font name remains in the PDF?
Thanks,
Annakonda

This is not something that you can change.
Re: No original font name included in the character set pdf
Thanks for the quick reply.
Too bad I can't correct this by myself in Maintype.
Might High-Logic do something about it and enable Maintype in future versions to keep the original font name for Postscript print output?
It should be something like shown in the screenshot.
Would you advise me to place a request in the MainType-Request-Forum?

It is not going to happen, as we deliberately do thus magic, as it ensures different fonts with the same name are properly displayed. You win some, you lose some.annakonda wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 4:24 pm Thanks for the quick reply.

Ok, I can understand that fact.
But if several fonts all have different font names, then that would be unnecessary.
And this magic, as you call it, would be unnecessary if the charset is printed for only one font.
Whether Maintype will consider this in the future (as a feature request)? So we would win something more, and lose anything.
