Regarding the "Standard" and "Formatting"

Post by Someonelse »

Allow the "Standard" and "Formatting" Toolbars to be put next to the Menu Toolbar (the one with "File Edit View Tools Help"). This way, the height of the Menu Toolbar (which is shortest) can be "recovered" for use by the other main window elements.

So:

Code: Select all

[Menu Toolbar] [Standard Toolbar] [Formatting Toolbar]
Instead of:

Code: Select all

	[Menu Toolbar]
	[Standard Toolbar] [Formatting Toolbar]

What is your monitor resolution? It seems that you're just expecting too much information to be visible at once. The standard and formatting toolbars can be turned off as you can access everything from the menus. Toolbars can also be detached and made floating, but that doesn't solve the problem of not having enough screen space.

Set up a couple of custom layouts with only two or three toolbars and switch between them for different tasks.

1920x1200, but every little bit counts!

The only reason I suggested this is because those three toolbars are already moveable so it seems a waste to have the Menu Toolbar taking up the entire width of the window--especially since all three take up little horizontal space.
