Open Fonts in FontCreator

Post by Bhikkhu Pesala »

Open the selected font or fonts in FontCreator.

This would probably need a warning setting in Options: "Warn me when opening more than nn fonts." FontCreator will open a lot of fonts at once, but it can take a while if fonts are large.

My immediate thought was that it would make sense for MainType to issue a warning, even though FontCreator already asks for confirmation if you try to open more than ten fonts at the same time, but then it occurred to me that MainType has no way of knowing how many other fonts FontCreator is set to open. You could easily find yourself in the situation where MT tries to open five or six fonts in FC, but FC wants to open another eight or nine; in that scenario, MT wouldn't issue a warning but FC would warn anyway, so perhaps a warning from MT is of limited value.

Shortcut from MainType to FontCreator?

Post by heathert »

Hi there--

I just downloaded a new type face today, and found out it doesn't have an apostrophe, which I can easily make using parts and pieces. It would be so handy to just be able to click something to re-open the font in FontCreator... would that be difficult to add?

Thanks,
Heather
