Currently, the "Select Duplicates" feature is only available in Library view.

Would it be possible to implement it to operate on an individual folder view?

I am not sure if it is easy to implement, but what should it do?

I don't see why it should be hard to search only for duplicates in the filtered view or font group.

I can use tags to show duplicates in any group.

Even for a user who utilizes tags frequently, sometimes that user doesn't want to tag fonts, but instead just to work with folders. Having to manually tag "These fonts are in this folder" or something similar can be a tedious extra step in this case.

It seems that if the user is in a folder view, it's natural to expect to be able to detect duplicates in that folder only. (In other words, it seems strange/counterintuitive to only be able to detect duplicates when looking at the Library.)

The current implementation is not suitable to identify fonts in a single folder that are considered duplicates within your whole font library. It will not be easy to make it work per folder, so right now we have no intention to add such support. Maybe that changes if more people find this a useful enhancement.

To be more specific, the current request is to identify fonts in a single folder which are considered duplicates within that single folder.

The request is not to de-duplicate that folder against the whole font library, but rather just to de-duplicate fonts within that folder.

This might not be too complicated, but it might confuse people. They might expect it selects all fonts within the folder that are duplicates for the whole library. So for now we don't think it is wise to implement this feature request.

If a user wants to de-duplicate a single folder, not against the entire library but just within that folder, and doesn't want to add them to the library and mess around with tagging... What would your recommendation be for the best solution?

Understood that your tool may not be positioned to do it. If you even have a third-party recommendation, it would be helpful.

Some users just often need a way to quickly deduplicate a folder of fonts without adding it to a library or mess with tagging.
