I elected:
Tools=>Options=>General, and ticked the appropriate box
to minimise MainType, on closing, to the Systems Tray.
In this condition Automatic Update will download but will not install.

That's probably because there is still an instance of MainType running and the installer won't start when that happens. Make sure all instances of MainType are closed, else it should start installing the update after a reboot and you start MainType again.

That is right. I had a similar problem.
Than, after I did close MainType from the taskbar (right click -> exit). After reopening it, the update installed correctly.
