Letter with wrong Size in Preview :-(

Post by keit »

Hello!
I have a little Problem with a Font I changed. On my search for a monospaced font I found a Font called Monaco. I liked it, but there is one character I wanted to change. The zero has a slash and I wanted to change it to be a dot. What I dit was:
I removed the inner contours that were responsible for the slash. The outer contour stayed untouched, so the size should not change. Then I inserted my dot and looked at my font in the preview. It looked great for all font sizes greater 12 points. All letters had the same hight. But for a pointsize of 12 or lower the changed dotted zero was smaller.
Any Ideas? I need to use that font with a 12 point size and need your help.

Thanks a lot in advance
Keit

In editing the slashed 0 you destroyed its hinting. The changed character should print OK.

To preserve hinting you can make the dotted 0 a composite glyph.
