Trouble installing fonts with Vista
Quite some time ago I believe I saw a message on the forum about not being able to install fonts in Windows Vista. Is this true or did my eyes deceive me? I haven't tried to install a new font created in FC5.5 since I have purchased my new computer with Vista, so I'm not sure if this is true. If this is a bug, do I need to download and install a fix? Thanks! Frank

Hi Frank,
When running FontCreator 5.5 or earlier on Windows Vista the font install feature will most likely fail, unless you start FontCreator with Administrator privileges (right-click FontCreator and choose "Run as Administrator"). This is because you need permission to write the font file to windows fonts folder. You can also choose to install the font through Windows fonts folder or through MainType.
We are now working on version 5.6 but we haven't decided how to deal with this issue yet.
